Helpful information

As a patient, you may not be aware of the role or the part you play in your health care.  You have the right to make informed decisions about your health, medical treatment, referrals and procedures. Our clinical team have a duty to provide information that our patients can understand, and that is tailored to your individual needs. As a patient at our practice, you have the right to a second opinion, whether that be another doctor at our practice or a doctor at another practice.

All our patient records are completely electronic and are maintained with the highest level of security. Our computer system is protected by Malware and is continually monitored by our IT department for any security breaches.

Your privacy is our top priority.  Your medical records can only be accessed by authorised personnel.   We require all our staff associated with the practice, to sign a confidentiality agreement.  This is a condition of their employment and they are required to abide by this agreement.  A copy of our privacy policy is available from reception.

If you wish to have a copy of your health records forwarded to another practice, you will be required to complete a ‘request for records’ form which is available out our reception desk.  If you just wish to have a copy of your latest blood test results our reception staff can print a copy for you once it has been checked by a GP and you have discussed the results with your doctor.

Our Practice uses SMS for appointment reminders and recalls.  If you would like to opt out of this service then please let our Reception Staff know.

Patients should NEVER use email to contact the Practice in an emergency.  Patients contacting the Practice by email can expect to wait up to two days for a response.  Our Practice will not send any personal information by email unless specifically requested in writing by the patient. Our practice email policy states that patients are to send their request via email and our staff will respond to that same email, ensuring the address is correct.

Script clinic – Due to COVID we have our script clinics on hold at the moment.   We are able to offer you a Telehealth appointment for this if you meet the criteria.

Due to the current COVID pandemic, if you have been to our surgery, in person in the last 12 months, we can offer you a telehealth appointment where a face-to-face appointment is not needed.  This service can be used for the renewal of scripts, repeat referrals or receiving test results.
